Jewett-Scio Baseball Association receives $5,500 donation

HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio — Nearly 100 Jewett-Scio Baseball Association youth ballplayers will benefit from a donation from a local gas processing facility.
Utica East Ohio of Scio presented a $5,500 check to the association on Wednesday in Jewett. The donation go toward upgrading equipment and improving fields in both villages.
They also plan to buy new helmets, bats and catcher's equipment for all eight teams. Funds will also help with improvements to dugouts and bleachers at the group's five baseball diamonds.
